I would be interested in hearing these tracks, but I suspect that a lot of stars(sic), would have to align for it to happen. There are the copyright laws just for starters.
I confide that the financial aspects are what is preventing commercial release. Anyone who has sold anything 2nd hand knows that some people are happy to pay the asking price, while others, as a matter of principal, have to get something off - tis the way of the world methinks?

Re copyright. I'm not 100% sure but isn't something that hasn't been released out of copyright after 50 years?

It used to be 50 years but was increased to 70 in 2013 following an EU directive in 2011.

...so even George Bernard Shaw (d. 1950) is currently still in copyright, and will be so for another 1 year, one month and 4 days inclusive.

After that (assuming no further directives), any publisher will be able to print and distribute his plays, just as is the case with Shakespeare. At last.

I have a feeling that by the time The Beatles' first single release "Love Me Do" celebrates its 70th birthday in 2032, the copyright laws will probably change to 90 years.
