I saw the Shadows play a few times at Blazers nightclub in Windsor. IIRC it may have been in 1986 that I was chatting to a another fan of the group, and I first heard of Hank's move to australia - can't recall if Hank had moved or was about to.

I think I would move there today if it wasn't for the heat in the summer. SWMBO wouldn't like the snakes spiders and other critters and fauna. A friend (qualified nurse) moved to Sydney last year and is loving it!

Kindest regards,
Christopher

Hi Christopher, your Mrs would love it here today.
It's p..ing down! :o
With regard to snakes, spiders, etc you really don't have much of a problem to worry about in the suburbs.
The bush areas are the places you have to watch out.
Oh did anybody mention the giant wombats to you?
They are really scary!
All the best, Ian ;) ;)

Hi Ian,

Thank you for your comments. The missus is wary of any 6 legged critter biggers than a 5p coin - for myself I am comfident if the creature is smaller than my hand - but not if it can jump or fly.

A few years ago I was helping to unload fruit from the back of a container lorry - from the corner of my eye I glimpsed something crawl from under a metal cage - if appeared to be slowed by the low temperature.

I froze, but the lorry driver had true grit, he stamped his size 12 boot on it!.

Kindest regards,
Christopher

Hi Frank,

North Harrow looks quite a nice area on google earth, so not a million then?

Just goes to show that one cannot rely on pictures when contemplating a locale?

The closest i have yet got to Newcastle-upon-Tyne, was Roker Park, Sunderland in the great year(if one is partial to footy) of 1966. I would speculate that Bruce's haunts in the mid 1950's have much changed nowdays. My wife grew up in Battersea/Vauxhall - million pond houses are pretty run of the mill there now!

By contrast Chester-le-Street seems to have survived intact- looking at Bruce's street and his infants school.

Kindest regards,
Christopher.
