Sounds like some cine-footage (filmed off the TV) from November/December 1966 has just surfaced and is now in the possession of those nice boys and girls at Kaleidoscope.

Some of it may be of interest:

• Spencer Davis Group – Gimme Some Lovin’ (17/11/66)
• Troggs – Anyway That You Want Me (15/12/66)
• Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich – Save Me (29/12/66)
• Dusty Springfield – Goin’ Back (30/6/66)
• Gene Pitney – Nobody Needs Your Love (30/6/66)
• The Hollies – Bus Stop (30/6/66)
• Ike and Tina Turner – A Love Like Yours promo film (17/11/66)
• The Shadows – The Dreams I Dream (17/11/66)
• Small Faces – My Mind’s Eye (15/12/66)
• Tom Jones – Green, Green Grass of Home (15/12/66)
• Cliff Richard and the Shadows – Cinderella at London Palladium rehearsal (12/66)
• The Beatles - Paperback Writer (16/6/66)

8mm film recorded from the television by David Chandler.

Interesting, Chris - wonderful what the quality is like and if there is any sound. Will it ever be seen??

Believe it is just video no sound, some was shown on our local news programme and it had sound added although it was out of sync.

Thanks Bob - perhaps with the wonders of modern tech they could sync up the audio from the recorded versions (as I'm sure the performances would have been mimed anyway!

The video quality was very poor but I don't know if that was before Kaleidoscope had restored it or not

If it was filmed off the TV with a cine camera, then it's not going to look great. However, all sorts of restoration work is possible now, using computers, so I would expect it to be improved upon.

Kaleidoscope (The Classic Television Organisation), is a nonprofit organisation that recovers and stores classic television programmes in their archive. In the past the organisation has staged television festivals in the West Midlands area, having release numerous television research guides. Proceeds from such events are donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

And here they are...
