I think it had somerthing to do with publishing rights to songs they had written themselves. It stopped when Shadows Music was formed.

Peter Gormley, the Shadows' manager at this time, served as a figurehead when the Shadows couldn't yet register the tunes they had composed with their own names.
Peter Gormley, l'agent des Shadows à cette époque, a servi de prête-nom lorsque les Shadows ne pouvaient pas encore déposer les mélodies qu'ils avaient composée sous leur propre nom.

Hi Didier,

I knew that F.B.I. , We say yeah and Gonzales were written by the Shadows and not by " McGlynn" or Peter Gormley.
But did they really write " Shotgun " themselves, too ? And if so, who wrote it ?

As far as I know, Shotgun was credited to Jon Allen, but it was a pseudonym for Bruce Hank and Jet (confirmed in Malcolm Campbell's book "A pocket Guide to Shadow Music").
