A Useful computer tip for zooming

Postby Phil McGarrick » Tue Dec 08, 2009 9:32 pm

I may be the only person who didn't know this but....

If you hold down Ctrl and scroll the wheel on your mouse - You can make everything bigger or smaller .
Very useful for resizing YouTube clips to fit your monitor or for text thats too small to read.

I know you can do it from View,Zoom, ctrl + or ctrl - in the toolbar at the top but this is so simple.

Give it a try. Phil

My WhizKid Computer Ace son, James, showed me this tip some time ago.
It works brilliantly but I've tried it on my Internet Banking and it doesnt work!! No matter how much I use Ctrl + scroll I cant make make my bank balance any larger!!
cheers

Hi Phil,

Now you've got everyone on the site zooming in and out of their computer screens, you really ought to tell them how to return back to where they were at the beginning :D

Cheers

Well I'd not discovered that one either and I thought I was fairly familiar with most computer stuff!
No doubt my six year old nephew would know about this, in that extremely annoying way that most kids do . . . . :geek:

Blow me, I just discovered another one when playing with the Ctrl button. I accidentally touched the Shift button instead and you can switch back and forth to previous pages without using the Go Back or Forward buttons at the top of the screen (Mozilla Firefox)!
Maybe if I click on another one I'll be able to revert back to how I looked when I was eighteen . . . :lolno:
